PROPHET
The Hatmaker's Son

The Life of Robert Muller

Hardcover: 288 pages

In the 1920's, after the First World War, Europeans went on with their lives. A new generation of children was raised to believe the Treaty of Versailles had outlawed war. They held fast to their dream until Hitler invaded their villages. Robert Muller grew up on a river between Germany and France. When the German army tried to draft him, he escaped to Vichy and joined the French Resistance.

After the liberation of Lyon, he stood in a field weeping for the lives lost in the battles he fought in the Resistance. That night Muller declared he would devote the rest of his life to peace.

Muller left everything behind when he joined the United Nations. He rose from the lowest rung to the highest appointive office in the international community. His dramatic life is an adventure story about crossing the great divide between world wars and world peace. Muller is a visionary who never gave up.

If it were fiction, Prophet would make a thrilling movie. The fact that it is true makes it even more compelling. I was sorry at the end because I wanted to read on.

I could hardly put it down! It is a beautifully detailed and vivid presentation of the boyhood of Robert Muller in a war-torn world.
